Jessie Burnie
Registered Social Worker (MSW)
Identity & Life Transitions • Anxiety & Emotional Regulation • Family Dynamics
Jessie supports youth (10+) and young adults navigating anxiety, emotional overwhelm, self-esteem challenges, self-harm, identity exploration, family stress, and those moments in life when everything feels heavy, confusing, or difficult to make sense of. She understands that growing up can be complicated, and that many young people are carrying far more than others realize. Jessie creates a calm, supportive space where clients can show up exactly as they are, talk about the hard stuff, and feel genuinely heard without judgment.
With over a decade of experience supporting youth and families, Jessie brings a warm, grounded, and relational approach to therapy. Drawing from CBT, DBT, mindfulness, creativity, and client-centred practices, she helps young people better understand their emotions, develop healthy coping strategies, strengthen self-awareness, and build confidence in who they are. Rather than focusing only on behaviours or symptoms, Jessie works to understand what is happening underneath the surface and helps clients make sense of their experiences in ways that feel empowering and meaningful.
Jessie is especially passionate about supporting youth and young adults navigating anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, 2SLGBTQI+ identities, adoption and foster care experiences, family conflict, and major life transitions. Known for her compassionate presence, authenticity, and ability to connect with young people, she believes healing begins when people feel safe enough to be themselves and supported enough to know they do not have to navigate life's challenges alone.
